Karen Kindred joined the staff as kitchen coordinator in 2014. Karen and her husband relocated to Sidney, Iowa to be near their daughter, son-in-law and three of their five grandchildren. Prior to coming to work for NCECBVI, she spent thirteen years as corporate Dining Manager for Omaha Public Power District at the nuclear plant in Fort Calhoun NE. Karen also worked at Educare in Omaha as their kitchen manager and it was there that she discovered how much she enjoys working with children.
Free time activities include getting to know her new community, adjusting to small town life and participating in her grandchildren's lives. Karen's son is in the Navy and lives on Whidbey Island, WA. He has two children and she loves keeping up with them and making trips to the West coast as often as possible.
