Rachel Zahn

Teacher of the Visually Impaired

800-826-4355

Rachel grew up in Syracuse, Nebraska and got her bachelor’s degree at the University of Nebraska. She had an opportunity to student teach in Houston, TX so she headed down there and ended up staying for 12 years, teaching 7th grade language arts and 5th grade language arts. However, family brought her back to Syracuse where she stumbled into a job at NCECBVI as a classroom teacher. This job inspired her to go back to school to get her Master’s degree in Special Education with a Teacher of the Visually Impaired endorsement. With that, she is now working in the Outreach Department doing direct services for students in need in our public schools. She still gets to have her office at NCECBVI and see her former students in the hallways when she’s there. She is proud to be a teacher and advocate for the NCECBVI and ESU4 family.
